13 We know that her name was Anne and we know that she was referred to by W.O. as a "...hired girl at his Grandfather's farm...", and that Mary (GoGo) was born in December 1854. I decided to look more closely at the census from 1851 for Grandfather Humphrey's farm, (where W.O. was also living) and the close neighboring farms, as per the census.
Well it turns out that there was an unmarried 21 year old "servant girl" named Anne Ellis, living on the Farm "Penybryn" which was located about 6/10ths of a mile from Grandfather Humphrey's farm - Pemhiulas. This is a very sparsely populated area even today, but in 1854 even fewer people, but very accurate census. I propose that Anne Ellis is the probable mother of Mary. After the 1851 census she vanishes from Darowen.
