Cornelius was christened November 04, 1718. He moved to New Jersey about 1751. In 1762 he was living in Somerset County, New Jersey. He subsequently moved with his family to Conewago, Pennsylvania, where he served as Dominee of the Dutch church from 1772 until 1788. The Dominee Cornelius Cozine and his wife, Annetje, are buried in the old church cemetery, now called the "Low Dutch Cemetery", located about three miles east of Hunterstown, a hamlet a few miles northeast of Gettysburg.
